I am a researcher at CENTAI, a newly established research institute that aims at combining independent research with industrial applications. I have several research interests at the intersection of economics and the interdisciplinary science of complex systems, spanning the theoretical-empirical spectrum.

November 2023

Our paper “The unequal effects of the unequal effects of the health–economy trade-off during the COVID-19 pandemic” was published in Nature Human Behavior! See also our blog post and the press coverage.

I co-edit a special issue in the J. of Economic Behavior and Organization on “Complex system approaches to 21st century challenges: inequality, climate change, and new technologies”, as well as volume IV of the “Economy as an Evolving Complex System” series, both following from the August 2023 conference at the Santa Fe Institute.

In the 2023/2024 academic year I teach a course in Complexity Economics (48 hours) in the master in Physics of Complex Systems at the University of Torino.

August 2023

I co-organized a conference on “Complex system approaches to 21st century challenges: inequality, climate change, and new technologies” at the Santa Fe Institute.

New paper on learning agent-based models from data.

January 2023

New job! After three wonderful years at Sant’Anna in Pisa, I started a new job as a researcher at CENTAI in Torino.

New version: three years after the first version, I finally finished my paper on synchronization of endogenous business cycles.
